5 ways to overcome social media anxiety๐Ÿ˜ต

Is ‘Social Media Anxiety’ even a thing? Well it should be, because its 100% real!

There are hundreds of different ways which might trigger someones anxiety, social media is definitely one of them. Seeing something you don’t like, or something personal can cause a stream of emotions. The internet is a wonderful thing, and I for one enjoy posting photos and checking up on friends etc etc. But on the other hand, it can be a platform for people to hurt you.

I was inspired to do this post, after reading my favorites bloggers experience with internet trolls, insults and bullying.

1. Ignore Ignore Ignore

I always got told when I was younger that the best way to stop people carrying on hurting you, is to ignore them. The worst thing you can do is retaliate, the truth is, you will never win, because that other person will always try to get one up on you. So the best thing to do is ignore the hell out of it. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

2. BLOCK

This one is my ultimate favourite. Out of sight? OUT OF MIND! and that’s so true, delete negative people from FaceBook, Instagram, Snapchat etc etc. If you can’t see what they are posting, then you can’t see hurtful things, and if you cant see it, then it might as well not be happening. You are protecting yourself, wrapping yourself in cotton wool isn’tย always a bad thing, it’s a sensible thing!

3. Think?

Why is this person, or those people doing this to you? Most of the time it is down to their own insecurities or jealousy. If anything you should feel sorry for them, think about what it could be that they want so much that they don’t have, beauty? success? friendships? It could be a mixture of things, but try to take it as a compliment and not as an insult.

4. Take a break

It should maybe not be a long term solution, because you should never hide away from people and your problems. But taking a break from social media can do you a world of good. I did it a few months ago and it made me feel a sense of freedom that I couldn’t be contacted all the time. It’s nice to not feel the need to check your updates day and night!

(5. Go and get your nails done or something)

I had to add this one in! Go and do something that doesn’t make you feel anxious, go and do some retail therapy? a cuddle with your favourite ‘cuddiler’, get your nails done or just sit and have a glass of prosecco. Everyone is different, but we all need to look after ourselves every now and again. ๐Ÿ˜

Social media can be a bit overbearing at times, so chill, sit back and take some time off. Clear your mind and try to start again!
