The most fashionable films – that you MUST watch!

Seen as we are in the midst of fashion shows across the world in New York, London, Milan and Paris. I thought I’d steal a Red Magazine idea and do my own interpretation of the most fashionable films of all time!

Obviously with Audrey Hepburn being one of my favourite women in the world (up there with Taylor Swift and Alicia Vikander) 2 out of 5 movies star her OF COURSE! Any complaints, you know where the exit button is 😂

1| The Devil Wears Prada (2006)

Now it might seem a bit of a cliché to pick this as the first one however this film is actually epic, although I really don’t rate Anne Hathaway as an actress, but Emily Blunt and Meryl Streep are superb….as is the fashion! This movie does make you NEVER want to work in the fashion industry, but the clothes and style this film has are out of this world, and the good story line is just a bonus. It is  Givenchy, Chanel and of course Prada Galore. Most women with any interest for fashion would have already watched this film but if not….get yourself sat down tonight with a glass of prosecco and get it watched now you muppet!

2| Clueless (1995)

CLUELESS IS SUCH A BABE FILM! I adore this film, so girlie, so cute and so utterly fashionable. Lovely little Cher is not only a ditsy blonde with the best one liners in the world, but she is such a fashionista at heart! The tartan skirts and rotation colour-coordinated closest is just a delight to be a part of. And the most dramatic scene in fashion when Char is super upset after having the lie on the grown after being mugged..and not because of the fact that he has a gun to her head.. oh no no no,,,,because she is ‘wearing Alaia’. Such a babe 💜👑

3| Funny Face (1957)

Based on the legendary Diana Vreeland (and I only know about her because I love the film) this film is about the bold change and search for the new IT GIRL, which just happens to be played by the gorgeous Audrey Hepburn. Even when she’s dancing around on tables in an underground Parisian cafe, there still something so stylish about her. Mixed with the love interest, the sweet little innocent girl singing and dancing and taken under Vogue’s wing to be the best thing in fashion in history, it is the base to a brilliant story!

4| Sex and The City (2008)

I couldn’t forget about Carrie, she is controversial, with a large amount of people not seeing anything in her at all, but I think she’s fantastic, especially with those Blue Manalo Shoes! That she seems to forget about and leave in her very grande, very large and very white walk in wardrobe! No one in their right mind would forget about shoes like that! But am I getting ‘carried’ away? It’s not just about the shoes but those BEAUTIFUL garments that she wears through all the series and both films! I’ve got to say though…the first film is definitely my preferred out of all the Sex and The City releases!

5| Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1961)

Last but most certainly NOT least! This is my all time favourite film in the whole entire world! And the most iconic film of all time not just because of ‘moon river’, winged eyeliner, Chanel lipstick or even Audrey Hepburn but because of that ultimate Givenchy LBD!

Worn in the very first scene, with Holly strolling down fifth avenue, wearing the also iconic Oliver Goldsmith sunglasses, Danish and Coffee in hand, staring like a puppy into the window of Tiffany & Co.

And it just gets better and better, beautiful big hats, trench coats in the rain, starched white shirts with pumps and of course her cat named…’Cat’

Is there anyone out there that wouldn’t want to be Holly Golightly?

A girl can dream!!!

There are so many more films that ooze with style, but I would be here all day if I explained each one hehe.

  • Coco Avant Chanel (2009)
  • Factory Girl (2006)
  • Dior and I (2014)
  • Yves Saint Laurent (2014)

Plenty to check  😍 you’ll be a real like fashionista before you know it!

Till next time
