I had a look through some older blogs of mine and came across one blog that I wrote six months ago. 7 Things I Can Not Live Without. Some things are just as important now as they were back then. However I’m going to wind it down and do my top 5 things that I love. This time, nothing about friendships and Cal because they are obvious.
1/ Cute texts
It’s so effortless yet so touching. There’s something about waking up to sweet texts, or catching you off guard during the day, that make you know that you are loved. Many of them coming from Cal, but the occasional one from my mum just calling me ‘sweetheart’ or from dad calling me ‘bunny’. All those little things just make the day easier when you’re having a long day at work or feeling a little off. In fact I’m going to send one to Cal now…..
Something that I absolutely love. I don’t really mind if thousands upon thousands of people aren’t reading them, on my stats page it shows that least people are, and that makes me happy. But what makes me even more happy is just writing and producing it. Things that are on my mind, or that I love and I just have to share. I’ve found that it is such a good way to release negative energy. I’ve talked about anxiety before in previous posts and I’m never shy to say that I suffer from it tremendously, yes, with blogging comes anxiety, the waiting if someone is going to bring you down by commenting negatively on a blog you’ve just spent ages writing. However getting stuff out in the open counteracts that, blogging does more good than harm for me. And even though I’m just under a year of doing it, I’m still learning, I’m still trying to get my writing skills on point, I know it will take time and that’s why I’m sticking it out.
And I’m not afraid to say it, I love using Instagram, especially for posting and advertising my blog , it’s a great way to reach out to people but also to get inspired, the amount of bloggers that I follow that give me ideas is unbelievable. And some photos that are filtered and played with to get the end result are beautiful, it really is an incredible source to be inspired, it doesn’t have to be constantly about the taboo ‘being on social media and being unsociable to the real world’. It’s better than FaceBook, that can be so controversial, and twitter that has word limits. We don’t have to be embarrassed to say that we like social media, it’s true that I do love putting my phone upstairs in an evening when I’m relaxing and having a break, and watching a film, eating dinner with Cal etc, its refreshing, but I also love to post post post 🙂
4/ Coffee Shops
I don’t care what people say! I love sitting in a coffee shop either on my own or with friends/family, typing away on my Mac or reading a book or magazine. I love having a coffee away from home that’s been made by experts with all the bits and bobs they put in it, yes they are more expensive than your McDonald’s coffee’s or making them at home, obviously they are. I don’t get why people have such a hate for Starbucks/Costa/Cafe Nero. If you don’t like it, then don’t go. But if you do go, I will be in there, so say Hi 😀
I love reading, writing and talking about fashion. I might not be able to show it with what I wear as much as I want, because the top trends are costly. And what I usually tend to do is get by with the best I can find and constantly save for my next big purchase. Although I’m not filthy rich (yet) I still like to think that I know what great fashion is. I admire other women so much and I spend hours on end researching bloggers and vloggers looking at what they wear and listening to what they think is the next big thing etc. There’s something about high fashion shown in Vogue, Harper, Elle etc, not just clothes but home ware/makeup that I just LOVE to ponder for hours over. I spend a fortune every month sieving through the magazine aisle to get the latest one. My dream would be to make it to a London Fashion Week show in my life, that’s the aim.
