PIXI VS L’OREAL

Which one is the winner?

I would never have believed it if someone had told me even 6 months ago that I would be blogging more about drugstore/high street skincare and cosmetics more than designer brands.

Not that I wouldn’t pick Burberry, Dior and Chanel etc etc every day, but sometimes it’s easier and kinder on the bank account if we go for the cheaper option, which isn’t necessarily a bad decision.

Pixi and L’Oréal have become common occurrences in my skin care and makeup routine recently. More so than others. Yes, I still use the occasional Dior Mascara and YSL Concealer, But I couldn’t live without my L’oreal and Pixi products just as equally.

I’ve always loved L’Oréal, that’s nothing new, I have written a lot about L’Oréal in the past. However, Pixi has slowly but surely come a top favourite (majority in my skincare department)

Here are some products you need to get your paddy paws on.

1)

L’Oréal Hydra Genius

If you like water based products, then this is definitely for you. It’s a lightweight formula that spreads brilliantly all over your skin. Even though I tend to use this product in my evening routine as sometimes I can tell my foundation doesn’t set well if I have used this as my morning moisturiser. Saying that it is still my go-to item for evenings. I even love the branding and packaging, I think it looks a lot more expensive than it actually is. (Also have caught Cal using this and I’m not afraid to out him)

2)

Pixi Double Cleaners

I have 100% mentioned this in past posts. And it’s well worth mentioning again. I love this product so much. I use this to make my makeup off every other day so that it has more of an effect. I take a coin size bit of the oil cleanser and rub straight onto my makeup full face, I spread all over my face in circular motions, getting into every corner of my face, you can almost feel it heat up while you are working it in. I then take a hot flannel and rinse off the excess, afterwards I go in with the cream cleanser and gentle swirl around my face and once again rinse with a cloth.

Bish bash bosh.

3)

L’Oréal Skin Perfection Correcting Serum

This is the newest addition to my L’Oréal collection. I use this just after toning and just before moisturising and similar to the Hydra Genius it seems to really soak in well and smooth very easily. It does all the usually bits and bobs but what I like the most about this serum is that it seems to brighten up my face a little. And we all like a bit of that don’t we?

4)

Pixi Mud Cleaners

Last but certainly not least is my new cleaner (and somehow the smell reminds me of my Grandma’s house, which is so random) However I loveeee this product, at first I was a bit apprehensive about using a mud cleanser to remove my makeup but I fell in love with it as soon as I used it for the first time. And what I love the most is that it actually does remove my makeup. Which might sound ridiculous but the number of times I’ve washed my face with face washes/cleansers/exfoliants and when it then came to the toner – makeup would still be found on the cotton pad.

I dampen my face, squeeze a little of the mud cleanser on the tip of my fingers and massage in for 30 seconds and then rinse. WA-LAAAAAHHHH.

  1. I absolutely love pixi products!! I haven’t tried either of those. But I’ve been eyeing them both off for such a long time! 😍😍 I love the glow tonic and eye nourishing makeup remover wipes
